SynergEyes regional account manager Aaron Koniak represents the company’s brand of hybrid lenses to more than 500 vision-care professionals throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties in California. Aaron Koniak also contributes to the Pet Orphans of Southern California, which opened a low-cost veterinary clinic in February 2015.
Pet Orphans Low Cost Veterinary Clinic enables pet owners and nonprofit organizations to receive pet care at a lower cost. Office visits cost $25 for first-time patients and include the treatment of a wide range of ailments, such as eye issues, diarrhea, and skin and ear infections. The clinic also treats more serious conditions like Parvo, and can perform most common surgeries for cats and dogs. It offers spaying and neutering services at $50 for cats, $80 for small dogs, and $110 for large dogs weighing over 50 pounds. Surgery costs also include medication for three days following the procedure. Additionally, the clinic provides prevention services such as vaccinations, microchipping, and deworming and parasite treatments at no examination cost.
Since its establishment in 1973, Pet Orphans has striven to rescue companion animals from abandonment and euthanasia through rehabilitation and rehoming. The opening of its veterinary clinic allowed the organization to extend its medical and care services. Prior to the clinic’s opening, the organization offered limited medical services for pets, such as spaying and neutering.
Office hours are limited to three days a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and the clinic accepts walk-ins from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit Pet Orphans’ website at petorphans.org/services/pet-orphans-low-cost-veterinary-clinic.
