A health care recruitment manager by profession, Aaron Koniak enjoys volunteering with and donating to organizations in his community. A long-time dog owner, Aaron Koniak supports Pet Orphans of Van Nuys.
Founded to support the well-being of homeless pets and help them find permanent homes, Pet Orphans of Southern California depends on volunteers and donors to make a difference. The organization welcomes volunteers aged 11 and older, all of whom must complete an application and attend a new volunteer orientation. All volunteers aged 11 to 15 must work with parent or guardian supervision, while those aged 16 and older may complete their hours independently.
Pet Orphans also needs financial contributions to support the pets in its care. Approximately 90 percent of Pet Orphans' animals come from local shelters and have special care needs. Donations allow Pet Orphans to continue rescuing these animals from facilities where they may otherwise be scheduled for euthanasia. Some donors choose to support such animals well into the future by naming Pet Orphans as a beneficiary of their estates. These donors, who become part of the Legacy Paws Club, join all contributors in receiving Pet Orphans' sincere gratitude.
